Microneedling with PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and microneedling

Did you know you can use tiny cells from your own blood to reduce hair loss, rejuvenate your skin, and reduce the appearance of scars and stretchmarks? Also known as platelet-rich plasma, these tiny cells contain special proteins called growth factors that aid the body in healing.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a safe and effective treatment that involves drawing a small amount of blood and using those same concentrated growth factors to target areas of the skin and encourage healing and growth. Depending on your cosmetic goals, you may benefit from PRP therapies such as microneedling, injections, or facial treatments.

Let’s discuss more benefits of platelet-rich plasma therapy below

Why platelet-rich plasma?

One of the biggest perks of PRP treatments is that they are minimally invasive. Unlike facelifts or other traditional procedures, there is little to no downtime, and most sessions are virtually painless. Plus, they can be done quickly, so you won’t need to spend hours at a time to get amazing results. PRP therapy can also be combined with other cosmetic procedures to help you achieve beautiful, radiant skin.

Because PRPs are made up of organic material from your own body, there’s little to no risk of having an allergic reaction. It’s also formulated to work with your body composition.

Who is a good candidate for PRP therapy?

Many of our patients are good candidates for this type of therapy, but there are certain cases who will get the most benefits from it. We’ll be able to determine if PRP therapy is right for you during our initial consultation and medical exam. We want all of our clients to be excited about their treatment plans, and we’ll work with you to create a plan that fits your needs.

We do not recommend PRP therapy If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with anemia or other blood conditions may also want to try one of our many alternative skin or hair treatments.

PRP Skin rejuvenation

Microneedling PRP

Microneedling is a simple procedure that uses tiny needles to puncture the skin and encourage new, healthy skin to grow in place. These tiny pinpricks create microchannels in your skin, which, when combined with platelet-rich plasma therapy, allow deep layers of the skin to grow and heal. PRP microneedling stimulates a healing response that encourages collagen production, reducing the appearance of scars, stretchmarks, and fine lines.

We recommend PRP + microneedling to treat the following concerns:

Early signs of aging

Loss of elasticity or collagen in the skin

Scarring, acne scars, keloids

Stretchmarks and fine lines

Wrinkles

With microneedling PRP, there is no downtime, and results are noticeable immediately. Your skin will continue to heal and improve two to three weeks prior to your treatment, as you continue to produce collagen.

PRP injections

By combining platelet-rich plasma with injectables, we can create a youthful, natural complexion while improving the tone and texture of the skin. This process involves injecting a common facial filler like hyaluronic acid, and then injecting growth factors from your plasma to encourage new tissue development.

Platelet-rich plasma and hair loss

PRP therapy is becoming a popular complement to hair transplants, and for a great reason. This non-surgical solution works for both men and women, and the process takes only about 30 minutes.

How does it work?

While it’s often assumed that a bald spot means there’s no more opportunities for hair growth, it turns out that’s not always the case. Some hair follicles in bald or thinning areas are actually dormant and not vacant. By injecting or microneedling these follicles with platelet-rich plasma, we can stimulate the development of new hair follicles while improving the health of the existing hair.

PRP is typically recommended for hair loss at the center of the scalp. Treatments can be done once a month for the first few months depending on the initial response to PRP therapy. Most patients start to see new hair coming in within two or three months after their first treatment and should notice less shedding. These results will continue to improve each month for up to a year.

The amount of treatments you’ll need will depend on several factors, including the location of the hair loss and the type of hair loss. During your consultation, we’ll be able to provide you with a long-term treatment plan and give you an idea of what to expect.

PRP and Scar Removal

It’s amazing what our skin can do to repair its own wounds, although the end result is often unsightly. When deep layers of the skin are damaged, the body produces new collagen to repair the wound. This results in scarring of the skin.

If you have a permanent scar, we provide a few options to reduce its appearance, and among these is PRP therapy. By injecting platelet-rich plasma into the skin, we can stimulate the tissue to create healthy, new collagen over time, making the affected area less noticeable. This growth of collagen is typically more soft, even, and supple.

After your initial PRP procedure, you could notice signs of improvement within several days or weeks, depending on the scar tissue. While there are several factors that will determine your individual healing process, you will likely reach your desired results with as little as 1 to 3 treatments.

Other uses for platelet-rich plasma

PRP therapy is more than cosmetic therapy. It can be used safely in a variety of ways, from dentistry, to sports medicine, to orthopaedics. PRP therapy is also beneficial for sexual rejuvenation, with specific injections to address common libido concerns in both men and women.
