Microneedling
Utah’s Premiere Microneedling
Microneedling is a simple procedure that uses tiny needles to puncture the skin and encourage new, healthy skin to grow in place. These tiny pinpricks create microchannels in your skin, allowing deep layers of the skin to grow and heal. This in turn diminishes the appearance of fine lines, scars, stretch marks, and overall improves the skins texture. Combine your treatment with PRP, a chemical peel, or opt for our Radio Frequency microneedling to reap all of the benefits your skin needs. Modern Med Spa utilizes SkinPen microneedling which is the very first FDA cleared microneedling device to treat acne scars and fine lines and wrinkles.

SkinPen Microneedling $300
It’s amazing what our skin can do to repair its own wounds. When deep layers of the skin are damaged, the body produces new collagen to repair the wound. This results in scarring of the skin. While there are several factors that will determine your individual healing process, you will likely reach your desired results with as little as 1 to 3 treatments. Safe for all skin colors and types. Not recommended for patients on blood thinning medications, antibiotics, or patients with active acne.
Microneedling with Peel $350
Pairing your microneedling experience with a chemical peel is like putting peanut butter and jelly together. Chemical peels compliment microneedling by going in after those microchannels are created and exfoliating the dead skin cells. This combination enhances the improvement of skin texture, fine lines, pores, sun damage, congestion in the pores, pigmentation, and acne scars.
Microneedling with PRP $500
Did you know you can use tiny cells from your own blood to reduce hair loss, rejuvenate your skin, and reduce the appearance of scars and stretchmarks? Also known as platelet-rich plasma, these tiny cells contain special proteins called growth factors that aid the body in healing.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a safe and effective treatment that involves drawing a small amount of blood and using those same concentrated growth factors to target areas of the skin and encourage healing and growth. Depending on your cosmetic goals, you may benefit from PRP therapies such as microneedling, injections, or facial treatments.
By combining platelet-rich plasma with injectables, we can create a youthful, natural complexion while improving the tone and texture of the skin. This process involves injecting a common facial filler like hyaluronic acid, and then injecting growth factors from your plasma to encourage new tissue development.
RF Microneedling $800
Radiofrequency microneedling uses a device that delivers tiny jolts of energy to the skin. When these jolts come into contact with skin, they produce microscopic wounds or microinjuries. These wounds trigger the body’s natural healing response, leading to new collagen and elastin. The result is younger-looking skin with fewer wrinkles and scars.
One of the main differences of radiofrequency microneedling from other forms of microneedling is that it uses heat in addition to needles. This heat helps stimulate collagen production, which can help improve the appearance of wrinkles, tightening the skin, and other signs of aging.
Another difference is that RF microneedling can be used to treat a wider range of issues than other types of microneedling. It can be used to improve the appearance of pores, scars, and stretch marks, as well as to reduce hair growth.
In order to have a radiofrequency microneedling treatment, numbing cream is applied to the skin first. Once that has taken effect, our team will use a tool with many fine needles attached to it. These needles can be moved in different directions and depths depending on what we are trying to accomplish.
Numbing
Numbing is recommended for our microneedling services to ensure the most comfortable experience possible. We can add it on here for $30, or send a prescription to your local compounding pharmacy to apply at home which costs about $40 and lasts several treatments.
Microneedling FAQ
Does microneedling hurt?
Overall microneedling is a low pain procedure. Before starting the procedure, the person conducting the microneedling will apply an anesthetic to the areas that will be microneedled to minimize the pain of the procedure. The anesthetic makes this a low pain procedure with most individuals noting that they feel a warm scratching sensation during the procedure. You may feel some pain or discomfort near areas of your face where bones are closer to the surface such as your forehead and jawline.
Is microneedling safe?
Overall microneedling is a very safe procedure. After the procedure you may experience some redness, bruising, tight, minor bleeding, itchy skin, or peeling, but these effects usually fade within days or weeks. Less likely effects you may experience are stinging or itching when cosmetic products are applied to your skin, light or dark spots on the skin, cold sores, lines on the face, swelling of the lymph nodes, or infection. If you’re concerned about potential adverse effects of microneedling, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for more information.
Who is a good candidate for microneedling?
Many of our patients are good candidates for this type of therapy, but clients with fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and large pore size will receive immense benefits. We do not recommend microneedling if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with anemia or other blood conditions may also want to try one of our many alternative skin or hair treatments.
